In a matter of days, allowances of up to $30,000 a year—which are authorized only for members of the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA) Governing Board who have been chosen by the consumers—will be replaced with salaries of $75,000 to $90,000, which will apply to all nine members of this governing entity.
