The legislation reduces the tax rate for US companies in Puerto Rico
WASHINGTON – At a time when Republicans are expected to drive a federal tax reform, Resident Commissioner in Washington Jenniffer González introduced a bill in the US House of Representatives that would make Section 199 of the US Internal Revenue Code permanent in Puerto Rico. Section 199 reduces the tax rates, from 35% to 32%, for manufacturers who do business in the Island as domestic companies.
