The Value Added Tax, (better known by its Spanish acronyms "IVA"), that tax that seems to have unleashed fears and disputes in Puerto Rico, is no more than a tribute to consumerism through which the government collects its money little by little through the distribution channel, instead of obtaining it all at once when the consumer buys the good.
