Yabucoa Rum Company bets on sugarcane revival

During the first three years of operation, Yabucoa Rum Company's plan contemplates, in principle, the planting of sugarcane on some 4,500 acres of land, or a little more than half the extension of the valley of the city of Los Azucareros. The fruit will be harvested to produce molasses and other raw materials such as ethanol and fibers for the manufacture of biodegradable products. (Xavier Araújo)
