From an early age, Adriana Vázquez Medina knew she would be in the sciences. As a child, she thought she would be a veterinarian, but then decided she would work with humans. At 15, she decreed she would be a neurosurgeon and spent the next decade studying, participating in workshops, doing internships and completing rotations toward that goal.
