Funds’ injection sought for Medicaid

The strategy calls for including an allocation of up to $900 million in the congressional measure to prevent the partial shutdown of the federal government

In a new race against the clock, the Congress will attempt to pass a budget resolution this week to prevent a partial shutdown of the federal government, a measure in which the Puerto Rican authorities would like to include a ‘bridge’ allocation to offset the depletion, in October, of the $1.2 billion a year in Medicaid funds granted by the Obamacare law.
