It has been just over a decade since the thorny path to raise the local cocoa industry began to be traveled, hand in hand with figures and private entities, along with the immutable will of farmers. But that was enough for Puerto Rico to make history by winning, for the first time, the gold medal in the international competition Cacao of Excellence, thus topping the list of the 50 best cocoas in the world.
