While actors in Puerto Rico’s electricity system remain hopeful that Donald Trump’s erratic tariff policies will not translate into a substantial increase in the cost of the hundreds of pending reconstruction projects to repair the grid, economists warn that the mere global uncertainty caused by the US president has the potential to impact the costs of a process that, almost eight years after Hurricane María, remains in its initial stages.
