prima:Mayors propose municipal restructuring as part of measures to extend Equalization Fund

In short, they filed four proposals to the Oversight Board seeking to avoid the elimination of the fund settled to end in 2024

This Wednesday, Puerto Rico Mayors Association and Mayors Federation filed four proposals to the Oversight Board that include increasing from 7 percent to 10 percent the tax paid by short-term rentals as well as the creation of a Municipal Restructuring Fund, to be accessed by making it mandatory for municipalities, to adopt fiscal controls -including a reduction in payroll- for five years.
