From the Cueva Culebrones, located in the Reserva Mata de Plátano in Arecibo -managed by the Citizens of Karso organization-, a group of researchers seeks answers to the enigmas surrounding the ecological and evolutionary processes of those viruses that manage to make the jump from animal to human species (“spillover”). A small mammal is key to the efforts: the bats.
