As the peak season for fungal spores begins—which in the archipelago runs from September to November—a study led by the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus (RCM) revealed that monitoring these particles can predict increases in influenza and COVID-19 infections, which could serve as a tool for preventing contagion.
