Hidden in the serene waters of Culebra, at a maximum depth of 40 feet, an initiative aims to turn the island municipality’s marine wealth into an engine for economic development and to contribute to food security from both a scientific and community-driven perspective. It is the first oyster farm in Puerto Rico, which will complete its pilot phase in December and, in the future, hopes to market its product.
