Ricardo Rosselló Nevares would announce his resignation in the next few hours, sources told El Nuevo Día.
Rosselló would have recorded a farewell address, which will be broadcasted before tomorrow noon, according to the same sources.
On the other hand, Secretary of Justice Wanda Vázquez would be his successor, in the absence of Secretary of State, as it is stated under Puerto Rico´s Constitution.
Luis Rivera Marín, one of the closest collaborators of Rosselló, resigned on July 13th, after the leak of 889 pages of a private group chat between the governor and high-ranking officials strewn with profanity-laced, misogynistic and homophobic comments targeting opposition leaders, fellow party members and journalists, as well as concerted efforts to manipulate the public narrative and discredit naysayers of the Rosselló administration.
Earlier today, the still governor said that he had heard the claims of Puerto Rican people and that it was time to listen.
