In the two months since Jorge Santini was appointed secretary general of the New Progressive Party (PNP), Governor Jenniffer González and Senate President Thomas Rivera Schatz—the main elected leaders of the party—have become embroiled in a series of public disputes. More than three years ahead of the next elections, these clashes have led some to feel that the party is once again heading toward a primary for the gubernatorial candidacy.
