prima:Genera PR argues that regulations do not apply to it when awarding fuel contracts

According to the company, even when acting as an agent of PREPA, it is exempt from the laws governing public procurement

To defend itself against the allegations of a company that challenged in court the granting of a fuel supply agreement, Genera PR argued, in parallel, that as a private company it is not subject to the regulations applicable to public entities and that the consequence of paralyzing the supply contract would be its own “disappearance”, since its only corporate purpose is to manage the generation fleet of the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA).
