As a “NASA embassy” in Puerto Rico and establishing a “permanent bridge” with space, the first NASA Earth Information Center (EIC) in the Caribbean—and the third in the United States—has opened its doors at the EcoExploratorio: Puerto Rico Science Museum, coinciding with the ninth anniversary of Hurricane Maria. The storm’s “electrical scars” can still be seen from satellites when power outages occur.
