As an alternative to mitigate the projected volume of load shedding this summer, LUMA Energy proposed that industrial customers, in exchange for monetary compensation that would be billed to the rest of the subscribers, agree to secure their operations during peak consumption hours using their own generators, without drawing power from the central grid.
