In view of the implementation of a provisional tariff that would come into effect on September 1, LUMA Energy proposed that participants in the net metering program be required to pay—based on their consumption from the electric grid—both the temporary increase of about seven cents per kilowatt hour (kWh) and the charge of nearly two cents per kWh to meet the pensions of the Electric Power Authority.
