As the solar energy market in Puerto Rico grows seeking to reach the goal - established by law - of 100 percent renewable energy by 2050, so will the volume of solar panels and storage batteries for disposal once they reach the end of their useful life, and this threatens to turn the solution to the energy crisis into an environmental problem unless measures are taken now to prevent it.
