Given the increase in the number of raids islandwide, at least six municipalities have shown interest in declaring themselves “sanctuary cities” - as did Hormigueros and Aguadilla - to have clear protocols regarding requests for information on immigrants and expressly prohibit officials from collaborating with immigration raids, confirmed the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Puerto Rico.
