Three days before a hearing at the Federal Court to determine whether to seek an alternative supplier of liquefied natural gas (LNG), New Fortress Energy (NFE) asked the Puerto Rico Energy Bureau (PREB) to schedule a technical hearing to discuss the scope of the regulatory agency’s recent rulings, which the gas company has argued infringe upon its rights under the current fuel supply contract.
