Shortly before passing its version of the agricultural bill, the chairman of the U.S. Senate Agriculture Committee, Republican John Boozman (Arkansas), reaffirmed on Thursday that the cost of the proposal has been the decisive factor in ruling out pushing forward at this time with a transition for Puerto Rico from the Food Assistance Program (PAN) to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
