After months of dramatic increase requests, evidentiary hearings, public hearings and procedural and substantive conflicts, the scenario for electric system subscribers remained essentially unchanged after the Puerto Rico Energy Bureau (PREB) approved on Wednesday a base rate - effective until 2028 - that maintains existing revenue levels to sustain the operations of LUMA Energy, Genera PR and the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA), relying on the amount of federal funds allocated to rebuild the grid.
