As the possibility of the country securing additional resources from electricity generation in the short term, the responsibility for preventing consumers from suffering the nearly daily power outages in 2027—the kind they have experienced over the past month—will rest, above all, on the capacity of Genera PR to expedite projects that have been in development for years and to complete repairs on existing units that currently keep nearly 1,500 megawatts (MW) out of service.
