Although Zohran Mamdani’s visit to Puerto Rico, just days after being elected mayor of the city of New York, responded in principle to coincidences of the political calendar of the Democratic leadership in the state, it is also a recognition of the weight the Puerto Rican vote still holds - and, by extension, the issues of the archipelago and its diaspora-, several leaders close to his campaign agreed Thursday.
