Ghaffar, who sold his stake in the automobile sales business to businessman Víctor Gómez III in 2024, alleged that although F40’s Operating Agreement established that the entity would be taxed as a corporation and assume its own tax obligations, its tax treatment was changed to that of a pass-through entity. Fahad Ghaffar filed a new lawsuit in the San Juan Court of First Instance against his former partner John Paulson, alleging a tax scheme that allegedly shifted multimillion-dollar tax liabilities to Better Puerto Rico LLC, the entity through which the resident investor directed nearly $17 million to F40 LLC, owner of the car dealerships now known as Gómez Hermanos Paulson.
