Tourists visiting Puerto Rico are using less and less cash to make purchases on the island, which makes the Puerto Rican archipelago a “very special” case when compared to other countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, according to Luisa Valle, director of the Mastercard Economic Institute for the region.
