With the purpose of identifying, protecting, and promoting recognition of the importance of built heritage, Puerto Rico has two registries—one at the state level and one at the federal level—that include hundreds of historically significant structures, ranging from bridges, government buildings, and residences to churches, businesses, and sites with archaeological value.
