Santa Isabel - On the night of Sunday, October 6, 1985, Homero Ortiz, a young state police officer living in the Peñuelas neighborhood of Santa Isabel, was asleep in his home, preparing to report for his shift at the Salinas Traffic Division in the early hours of Monday morning.
