Operational failures at power generation units in southern Puerto Rico that have strained the island’s electric grid for the past two weeks are linked to the dismissal of power plant managers by Genera PR in April, shortly after the operator learned it would face a budget cut, according to Puerto Rico’s Energy Czar, Josué Colón.
