While uncertainty persists among private electric system operators about the scope of the state of emergency decreed by the federal Department of Energy (DOE), Energy Czar Josué Colón assured that it is a mechanism that will accelerate the approval of all types of repair projects in the generation and transmission sectors and even suggested that it could serve to exceed the local jurisdiction of the Puerto Rico Energy Bureau (NEPR).
