A historical analysis of satellite images -from 2005 to 2024- found that the beaches on the north coast of Puerto Rico are the deadliest in United States, while estimates point to approximately 900 drownings in the past 30 years, prompting a new call for the government to invest in hiring trained lifeguards to prevent more deaths of tourists and Puerto Ricans alike.
