Amid discussions concerning the budgetary adjustments requested by the Oversight Board (OB) to the central Government and public corporations, the Department of Education—the largest government agency—intends to identify $300 million in savings over the next few years. This is an objective it aims to reach by closing schools, seeking more federal funds, and establishing schools that will be managed by other entities.
