The Department of Health violated federal laws and guidelines from the U.S. Department of the Treasury, as well as state regulations, by using over $300,000 in funds earmarked for the COVID-19 emergency to purchase 56 firearms, 47 tasers, 25 helmets, and 50 ballistic vests, as well as tactical equipment, uniforms, and 54 cell phones for the staff of its Office of Investigations.
