After upholding throughout most of Ricardo Rosselló’s electoral campaign that the approximately $70-billion debt Puerto Rico's government has acquired with bondholders was payable in its entirety, the Governor-elect's administration has determined that, in fact, Puerto Rico needs a cutback on the principal to be able to maintain its operations. Rosselló will submit this notion for the Oversight Board's (OB) consideration as soon as the new administration takes office on January 2.
