The closing of floors and service areas in hospitals, along with the increasing physician brain drain, prove that the healthcare system is experiencing a crisis

Auxilio Mutuo Hospital closed down two floors, opened an early retirement window among its employees, laid off others, and suspended salary increases. San Jorge Children's Hospital also closed two floors, froze positions, fired staff, and reduced marginal benefits. At the Menonita Hospital in Aibonito, they closed down the fourth floor and sent a group of employees to use up their vacation days due to a drop in patient census. And the Damas Hospital in Ponce will soon close some areas and dismiss employees.
