Between 2017 and 2021, about 130,000 young people between 18 and 24 were not studying, and only 10 percent had a bachelor’s degree.

Beyond good grades or academic progress, ensuring that young people in Puerto Rico complete post-secondary studies -whether certificates, associate’s degrees, or master’s degrees- requires social and economic support that educational institutions and communities can, but do not, provide, according to the preliminary results of a study on access to and outcomes of postsecondary education on the island.
