A company chaired by the former mayor of Isabela, Carlos “Charlie” Delgado Altieri, proposes to bet on “waste-to-energy” as the alternative that, in essence, would end the unmanageable problem of solid waste in Puerto Rico through a technology imported from Europe whose executives assure avoids the harmful effects to the environment and public health of traditional garbage incineration.
