The amendments to Puerto Rico’s Electoral Code that, starting this Tuesday, will be evaluated by the Legislative Assembly would, in broad terms, give force of law to elements that in past elections have favored the New Progressive Party (NPP) and do not address issues that require action, such as the general canvass, the registration of political parties based on the full vote and the need to strengthen the Absentee and Early Voting Administrative Board (JAVAA), according to electoral experts.
