The Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA) argued that it does not have sufficient liquidity to transfer nearly $100 million to LUMA Energy and Genera PR, as ordered by the Puerto Rico Energy Bureau (PREB). The funds were required to be remitted to the private operators by the end of July, a date by which the public corporation projected it would have only about $25 million in unrestricted cash available in its bank accounts.
