In response to the opening remarks by the presiding judge of Supreme Court, Maite D. Oronoz Rodríguez, to evaluate legal avenues to challenge the recently signed judicial reform (Law 222 of 2026), legal experts explained that the judge would have to prove that she has suffered damages and that the dispute is “mature”—which might be easier to prove after March 3, when the statute takes effect.
