Washington D.C. and San Juan - To the applause of congressional Democrats, the federal Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is closing in on about a hundred beneficiaries of the former Act 22-2012 who may have illegally claimed to have moved to Puerto Rico to avoid paying federal taxes or to reduce that tax burden.
