As recently as May 20, Lizmarie Rivera Jiménez went to her routine checkup appointment as a beneficiary of the government health plan, known as Vital Plan. After almost 19 years of receiving assistance to pay for the high cost of medication that inhibits the symptoms of Crohn’s disease - from which she suffers-, she thought she would have no problems and, as usual, brought the documents and evidence they demanded.
