Due to an amendment to Anti-Corruption Code for the New Puerto Rico (Law 84 of 2025)—passed last year—the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) is currently unable to act on the allegations made by the former secretary of the Department of Economic Development and Commerce (DDEC) Sebastián Negrón Reichard regarding alleged acts of corruption in the Office of Permit Management (OGPe), said Inspector General Ivelisse Torres Rivera.
